Trying to understand the clocks

Trying to overclock my 970 but I'm a bit stumped.

Using 3Dmark as the tester, usually I can clock so high but when playing games, just crash. Sometimes instant sometimes 10mins later.

Isn't 3Dmark meant to weed all this out?

So currently 3Dmark can test no problems with +120 on the core.

While in game only +30.

Someone who has one will get to this tomorrow with much more detail, but for now: Overclocking isn't as simple just setting higher clocks, eventually it will become unstable, often games can be more demanding on the GPU than a benchmark.
You would need to set higher volts to accompany the higher clock when it gets unstable.

So play a bit more with it adjusting the volts too.

Yeah I have the volts set on max, which was the same as someone else.

Seems when I game I keep getting these dx errors.

Then some exceeded windows time errors. But hopefully I'm working on that

Looks like it might be a driver problem.

Unistall the drivers as normal, reboot, once back into windows run DDU as Admin

Awnser yes to boot into safe mode, check all relevant boxes and click on "Clean and Restart" once back into Windows install the latest Nvidia drivers as normal.
