Been trying for about three hours and I have built a ton of computers before.
Gigabyte Z370 gaming 7 OP (rig is in sig) - latest F15 firmware from Nov 2021. System already has legacy mode enabled with Windows 10 and it all works perfectly.
Every bit of reading I have done suggest all I need to do is as follows.
Disable CSM. Reboot.
Enable Secure Boot. Cool.
Enable Intel TPM 2.0. All good.
PC will not boot off of my pre-made Win7 USB disk - it sees it but when I try to boot off it the system does not even try and instantly goes back to BIOS setup. It also fails to see the SSD drives (Samsung 970 Pro). It sees the UEFI USB boot disk but just can't boot off it. Other PC's (and this PC if I revert) boot fine from it. I expected to be able to see the bootable disk and then I'd reinstall and reformat the SSD to GPT but I cannot get that far.
Disconnect all other peripherals and same issue. Re-enable CSM and it all works again.
Any thoughts please? Does the USB itself have to be GPT partition in order for it to be bootable once CSM disabled? If so how to do that?
Homebuilt rig is only three years old so I cant believe it is incapable of running Windows 11.
