Hey guys,

I wonder if you could please help me?

My mum bought this so she can listen to music whilst going on runs - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Yarvik-Joy-4GB-Media-Player/dp/B0062VIFU8

I imported the music on to iTunes and use a macbook. iTtunes automatically made the format m4a

I had a look on the MP3 player and it said there was nothing on it so I changed the filepath of one of the songs to .mp3

After doing this, the song DOES appear on the MP3 player but it says 'format error' when I click play.

On the back it says supported formats : MP3 / WMA (Without DRM)

Could anyone please help?

You cant play music purchased from the itunes store with that mp3 player. All itunes purchases have DRM. Im pretty sure this is the case

edit: nvm this was changed yrs ago! Have you tried converting to AAC? Right click one track> Convert to AAC. Transfer it over see if it works.

you can't just rename a file like that. they are completely different formats.

this player clearly does not support m4a* which is what itunes uses by default. if you're ripping CDs, you should be able to change the import settings to use mp3. itunes itself won't sync with the player. you'll probably need to drag/drop the files using a file manager (or some other media player app)

if you have a whole bunch of stuff already in m4a format (such as purchases from the itunes store), then you'll need to convert these into mp3 for use on this player. itunes might be able to this but i don't have it installed to check.

*m4a is a container for AAC audio
