Thought some of you might be interested. I am currently downloading Smite, as I recently got rid of my desktop, and want to play it on my laptop.

I'm hopeful that it will be playable on low settings, and I thought that some of you who may be considering doing the same thing, may find this interesting.

I'll keep this updated.

Works pretty well. I had to disable turbo boost to prevent throttling though.

Non demanding games like South Park, FF7 and Wolf Among Us are even pretty decent through Paralells.

I'm in the same situation, while I wait to build a gaming PC, all I have is my work rMBP but it refuses to install bootcamp (something with my windows disk or USB drive) and I'm too cheap for parallels! I've been going through a lot of my Steam games that were bought in sales and never played!

Shame some are PC exclusive, I've missed out on a load of games since selling up and moving country, what with changing jobs, and buying an apartment, gaming has taken a backseat :s

Any rMBP with a discrete graphics card (2012-Q1 2013 with 650M or current-gen with 750M) will be able to play most games perfectly fine on 'average' settings. You will have to downscale the resolution to 1080/720p, but this is no different from your average desktop's resolution, anyway. The 650M chipset isn't great in comparison to its beefier standalone cousins, but it is perfectly adequate for almost every game you can throw at it in Bootcamp.
