Trying to work out if i can run 64bit

Hello there, i recently received a computer from my old employment area as they went bankrupt or some shizz nizz.
however they took the hard drive so i have to replace and use a new OS. however i wasn't sure if i should use 32bit or 64bit OS.
So i checked the bios and it was the most utterly retarded thing i had ever seen - that's dell for you - and i couldn't find many specs only that 64 bit was enabled.
Therefore logically i should be able to use 64bit i thought so i went ahead and ordered it. Then i read somewhere that this may not be the case so i neeed help!!!

how can i work out what OS is the right one to use

Specs from what i can work out:

Pentium 4ht @3.0ghz 3mb Cache
4GB RAM
retarded bios.....

install cpu z and it will tell you if the cpu supports x64

Well since it doesnt have a hard drive with an active OS how do i do that??

Assuming you have 64 bit install DVD just try booting off it. If 64 bit isn't supported then it will fail with an error message.

What's the model number of the CPU? It will say on the top of the CPU

if its a P4 Prescott it does, the earlier P4 don't

i would have thought sticking the serial number into the dell website would have been an easier way to find the specs. or simply the model number into google....

anyway, it is 64bit capable....
