TSMC says globalisation is dead, as it breaks ground on its advanced U.S Fab

TSMC made the statement as they broke ground on their fab in Arizona; stating that it's a process of work to diversify and for security. The Taiwan government though isn't as keen as TSMC and has made sure that the Fabs outside Taiwan will not be allowed to have access to the latest process node - for example this new fab will only be able to produce 3nm when the Taiwan Fab starts manufacturing on 2nm.

It looks like the Taiwan government did not like TSMC saying globalisation is dead, insisting it is not and that chips will continue to be made in Taiwan and sold to the world.

Chinese media have put out stories calling TSMC's $40billion Arizona Fab which will produce 4nm, 3nm and 2nm process nodes a "dark day"

And apparently in Taiwan there is some feeling that America is trying to steal TSMC, but this good video disproves that
