It is highly advisable that you use the supplied mounting bracket. If the board is like the other 775 boards then you have no bracket anyway, so will have no choice as the Tuniq will have nowt to secure on 
. It is worth it as I have a huge amount of mounting pressure on mine and no bending or warping of the board whatsoever. Mounting brackets on the back of the boards are always better imo.
