Tubing Sizing (First timer)

First time water cooler here

looking to cool my 2700k + SLI 780s

just bought my first piece of tubing and fittings

after doing my research i came to the conclusion that 3/8 ID 5/8 OD was the best size because apparently it doesn't kink easily

i originally was going to get 3/8 ID 1/2 OD

but now ive received the tubing if noticed how incredibly thick it is and it looks like its going to be difficult to work with

did i make the right choice is 3/8 5/8 a popular sizing should i RMA and move back to 3/8 1/2
 
I guess its entirely upto yourself. All depends on how you are fitting them. Im using 19/13 tubing and that stuffnis mighty thick and not very flexible however you can get around that by using 45 and 90 deg fittings although that bumpsbyhe price up quite a bit.

first time I done a wc setup I used the 13/10 tubing and was relatively easy to work with and only used the straight com9ression fittings and had loads of excess tubing in the loop that didnt need to be there.

personally I think it all comes down to looks and what you think looks/works best
 
I used 1/2" barbed fittings with 7/16" ID / 5/8" OD hose (16/11mm) and 3/4" (19mm) clamps. It is pretty stiff stuff but you can get it over the barbs with judicious use of piping hot water. The clamps fit fine because by the time it is over the barbs, it is thick enough to need that much clamp.

I have made use of rotary 90 degree fittings where necessary, especially on some of the shorter lengths.

This is my 3/8" ID and 1/2" OD, it looks a bit smaller up-close and I think it would look better a bit bigger
 
Usually thinner tubing means more £ saved because of not having to use angled fittings.
You can do some tight bends mostly, sometimes msy require a kink coil, but generally no.
I'd strongly advise you to check Primochill 10/13mm LRT Retail. Its a 9 ft pack so plenty, more than you need but if you nake a mistake, a kink appears etc you can change it without problems.
And Primochill LRT is great looking tubing as well.
