Hoover tumble dryer - HD Vision 18 months old - has smoke and not rotating gone down.

Missus has said never again Hoover.

I'm suggesting going German, anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks.

You don't appear to having much luck with English, so maybe you would be better at speaking German.

Give it a try and let us know how you get on.

Oh, the irony!

I will be watching this thread with interest. A new dryer is required and there doesn't seem to be anything other than 5* reviews on every product. Internet reviews aren't what they used to be.

Our Bosch condensing one is very good and seems to be technically excellent i.e. chuck clothes in and it dries them to whatever setting you want in the time it requires not just a set time of heat and spin.

Yeah, I was thinking Bosch Zanussi or Miele.

I've always had Zanussi washing machines over the last 15 years and their have never let me down once. I wonder if their tumble dryers are the same ?

Save yourself a load of cash and buy a White Knight.

White Knight tumble dryer reviews

The White Knight dryers we've tested generally score average to excellent for evenness of drying and for running costs. However, scores for overall drying time range from good to very poor and several models score very poorly for noise.

Time for you to buy insurance, we spend something silly like £14 a month for 3 white goods (Washing Machine, Fridge and Oven) with no excess and no call out fee, we needed a new seal on our fridgefreezer door, they said it'd be easier to replace the door, that's what they did.

It's probably the best investment this house has.

Yeah, we are thinking about this, thanks.

Go for it, let me go and have a dig and see who it's with.

Edit: It's called "Whatever Happens" it's through a major highstreet company, we pay like £15 a month for the 3 things it seems

White Knight

/thread.

This all over.

Cheap, does the job, and when it breaks, just get a new one due to low cost. It's what we do, and lots of other people.

Our white knight lasted at least three years, and then we sold it on as it was still working perfectly :-)

Just got a BEKO DSC64W Condenser Tumble Dryer - White

We have the older version of that and it has been drying two loads a day for a year now. It has started to throw a wobble on occasion by saying the tank and filter need emptied but I took the back off and cleaned all of the dust off the electronics and it seems to be back to normal.

It has performed well and the only reason I'm looking for a new dryer is because the wife wants a silver coloured one to match the new appliances at our new house.
