Anyone know the best place to get these? I eat them nearly everyday and currently trying out ones from ALDI and they taste ok. What kind of flavoring do you use?

eh? you can get them from lots of places.

are you buying frozen or fresh? would also be intrested in peoples recipes for these things.

I eat them as I have high cholesterol, I don't like fish but i do like tinned tuna mayo and a few very light tasteless fish. tuna steak when cooked right is just beautiful I usually just waz it in the george forman covered in a bit of olive oil, lea and perrins and chilli flakes.

The ALDI ones are good value. I tend to keep it prett straight forward and give them a quick 20 marinade in lemon juice before searing them. I sometimes add a little chili as above.

Thanks for replies, I usually buy them frozen, don't think I can get them fresh locally. Tried them with soy sauce and some pepper today and they were nice. I agree when cooked properly they are extremely tasty, undercooked or overcooked though and they are more or less ruined :p

Seared in lemon butter for about 45 seconds, then flipped and heat turned off, left for another 45 seconds and served. Nice pink middle, lovely.

There's loads of ways of doing them. My favourite is probably soy, lime juice, garlic and ginger marinade. - served on horseradish mash.
Or chopped into chunks for tacos with chipotle mayo + avocado

Lots of lime, chilli, garlic and ginger. Stick them in the fridge for about 30 mins or so with that lot in a bowl.

Then as above - flash/sear them in a pan for about 1 min each side and serve.

did this sort of today

lots of lime, some lime zest, olive oil, a clove of garlic and a finger chilli all finely chopped throw the tuna and turn over a few times. leave to rest. Did it on the bbq and was delicious.

I do mine in chili, soy sauce, garlic, and lime. Oven cook it in tin foil parcel, then finish off by crisping in a super hot pan for little to no time. Served with new potatos and green beans. Yum.
