Tuner cards & HTPC

I'm finally going to get a tuner card for my living room PC to make it a proper HTPC.

I am getting the Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H which gives me HD out, but I was wondering about SD/HD in. From what I can understand you need a DVB-S2 compatible tuner card to decode FreeView and FreeSat HD channels.

I don't use HD at the moment - though I will at somepoint - but I do have a cable box which has all the channels under the sun and I would like to be able to record off them to watch at my leisure (Eurosport for example).

Also the fancy-pants rewind live TV could be good to show off, but not strictly necessary.

So my questions are:
  • What do you recommend for a tuner card? I have a budget of about £100.
  • Should I get a remote or would a wireless keyboard (such as KeySonic ACK540RF) be better?
  • If I start using my HTPC for TV-viewing, what software is there for tv schedules in the UK?
  • I currently use MediaPortal (with a black interface) but what do others who lurk here use?
