Hi guys. I've just ordered an Ip35 Pro, Tuniq tower, Q6600 and a Antec P82 Case now i have read about the bolt mod but im not keen on doing this.

I have read however in several places that removing the fan from the tuniq tower should resolve some of the Pwm issues as long as you have cool air flowing through and around the Pwm and the Tuniq.

In my case i believe the Antec P182 comes with two fans at the top of the case where the cpu would be situated. So my question would be is it an idea to consider removing the Tuniq fan thus stopping the hot air being blown over the Pwm and just allow the fans on the case to do thier work or should i be considering another alternative should i find issues with my Pwm temperature?

I'm assuming that Pwm will of course be hot but should not really exceed 80c (if this is a high estimate please let me know).

I might be jumping the gun and it maybe that i dotn have any issues but i'd rather ask the question now rather than later. :)

I have searched the forums but there is no direct answer to my question as far as i can see so all help would be appreciated.

Not concerned about it touching anything more concerned with the fan blowing the hot air from the tuniq over the Pwm thus increasing its temperature...

Hence the thought of removing the fan and allowing the 2 fans on the case (one blowing in one blowing out) to deal with removing the dissipated heat from the heat sink out of the case itself.

Any thoughts?

removing the fan would increase case temps

the only thing you should do if your worried is, stick an extremely high cfm/high rpm fan on the tuniq and your case, as for the bolt mod, seemed like too much hassle to me. you should be fine though the pwm doesnt heat up that much unless you go mad with the voltages

You've absolutely no problem at all whatsoever.

The Tuniq will actually help with PWM temps. The fan sticks out underneath the cooling fins, so a little percentage of the air will just be moved by the Tuniq's fan, not affected by the CPU temps and will blow over the IP35 Pro's PWM heatsink.

You've bought almost the ideal combination :) Relax.

Excellent thanks for putting my mind to rest guys. Had to ask just incase though better safe than sorry :0

Just hope my shiny new Evga Gts 8800 fly's like the wind in my brand new setup now.

Im upgrading from an Abit IT7 Max, 2 gig of ram and a gforce 4 ti 4600 to the IP35 pro, 4 gig crucial tracer, Evga 8800 GTS. I think i should see a nice increase in speed even before i start overclcoking. :D

Well all my xconcerns seem unwarranted.

Got my system up and running and at idle to minimum load seems temps are fine not overclocked yet tho: -

Cpu: 20c
pwm: 35c
case: 28c

Quite happy so far now off to play about :D

thats in speedfan or core temp... mine is 20 in speedfan and 33 or so in coretemp... at stock, with ip35 pro and tuniq
