Tuniq fan control issue?

Hi folks,

I got all the bits for a new rig yesterday, put it all together and got the dreaded "fans spinning, blank screen" problem.

After reassembling everything outside the box and it still not working, I took off the tuniq 120 and put the stock cooler back on. Everything worked.

So what could be the problem there? My initial thoughts is that maybe the cpu fan monitor doesnt like the tuniq?

Specs as follows:

E6600
Abit FP-IN9 Sli
4gb OCZ 6400 ram
8800gtx
X-fi xtreme music
Tagan U-25 800w
Tuniq 120 (currently using Stock Cooler)

PS: Removing the sticky backplate that comes with the Tuniq so I could use the stock cooler's push lock pins was an absolute bitch.

its not meant to come back off thats for sure :p

i had to get it off, and then re-use it! which was fun.. a bodge job of a sheet of anti-static plastic to make sure the backplate doesnt short it out.

If it dosent like the fan monitor you should still get a display, can you confirm there is no screen at all or there is initially and it goes black? Does it work outside the case with the tuniq tower on, if so then sounds like a short. Also try just putting the TT on very loosley to make sure your not screwing it too tight. Best bet is to put bits of blue tac in areas of contact :)

It was just a blank screen, the graphics card fan was going full speed. With the tuniq on it still wouldnt work outside the case, it wasnt until I put the stock cooler on that it worked.

Must be a short somewhere. How did you manage to get the stock coolers pins onto the tuniq? that could be the problem there . . . plus, dont take the sticky cover off the back, coz once its stuck on its a bitch to come off. I had to physically cut the thing off.
