Not sure if this thread would be better here, in Overclocking, or Case Central, however...

I'm looking at putting together an updated rig and have just acquired a classic Coolermaster ATC-101 (for the princely sum of £17.01 - or £33 including P&P from 'that auction site'). I've always wanted one of these, or a Lian Li but have always been on a budget and have never managed to justify a nice aluminium case.

Anyway, i'll be coming back with a spec check later, however my initial question is whether the Tuniq Tower should fit in this case? Anyone have any idea? If not, would I be right in assuming that an Arctic Freezer 7 would be a slightly smaller next-best choice?

Thanks :)

well heatsink dimension is 131mm * 108mm * 153mm according to my tuniq tower box , if your case is wide enough you should have your answer

I won't have the case until Thursday, however I'm probably going to order the parts tomorrow to take advantage of some 'this week only' offers...

I've got a coolermaster praetorian and I don't think I could get anything taller than 130mm in it. If it has a 120mm fan in the back then go for it, if it's an 80mm fan in the back probably not.

I've got a black ATC 201 and an Artic Freezer 7. Its a good cooler. Pretty loud at 100% but it cools my e6600 @ 3.GHz well at 50ish%. Most motherboards have a setting in the Bios you can turn on so the fan's RPM is controlled by load and temperature. The stock 80 mill fans are also quite load you'll hear these and possible the graphics card cooler over the Artic Freezer 7 at 50%.

I'm pretty sure the Tuniq and Ninja will be too big due to the removable motherboard tray. The best that will fit (when i was looking) is the zalman 9700 as you can see at the bottom of this thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17750622&highlight=coolermaster

I'm not sure if any of these new smaller ones beats that. It cost too much for me.

I'd wait till you get the case if your tempted by the 9700 so you can double check the measurements. I guessing the 101 is similar to a 201 in side.
