Tuniq speed control

I am building a new PC and was wondering do I have to use the manual speed control cable/plate that came with it?

I tend not to like them and either set the speed in the bios or use speed fan or something, but the installation instructions do not say if it will work fine without it fitted.

I'd go one step further and replace the fan entirely, for something a little quieter.

No. I have mine connected to a fan controller.

i have tried an akasa amber in my tuniq and the performance
is worse but the noise is less.Quiet just never=high cfm.
