Tuniq Tower 120 replacement/fix?

I've got a Tuniq Tower 120 ontop of a Q6600 at stock.

The fan + controller in the Tuniq are not functioning very well, where you can hear the fan speeding up + slowing down very quickly. (as if you were turning the fan on + off every second)

So the question is, should I just replace the whole thing or can I just replace the fan/controller inside it somehow?

And is the Tuniq Tower 120 any good compared to what I can buy now?

My main concerns are noise. I'm not gonna OC this chip.

Why not just drop a replacement 120mm fan in there and control it from your CPU_FAN header or fan controller.

What about an Akasa Apache black or Camo 4 pin PWM fan. Not bad for a tenner.

If you only have a 3 pin fan header maybe something else.

Look for something less than 1500rpm or less than 1000rpm depending on your noise tolerance.

Cheers mate I'll check if I've got a 4pin on the board.

Otherwise I was considering just getting a fan controller and linking everything up to it so I can control everything in one place.

if you are not overclocking it (which is a waste ;)) then just stick a replacement fan in there.
I had a tuniq tower 120 and it is a capable cooler, could easily get your q6600 to around 3.0ghz.

Yeah I know mate unfortunately I have the worst board possible for overclocking a P5NE. The chip used to be in a decent board and was doing 3Ghz no problems before.
