Hi all quick question for those of you who own this beast. Ive just ordered one for my AM2 system. I was wondering, what is the correct way to mount the cooler? Its in an akasa eclipse 62 with rear exhaust and was wondering what the correct way to mount it so it blows the heat out of the back? I have seen pictures but it seems to be mounted in every direction possible.

Cheers :)

I have mine blowing the heat out the back, don't think it could go on any other way

Hmmmm sure Ive seen it pointing diff ways. Must just be me lol ignore me. Cheers mate :)

You can mount it any way of 4 directions!
Personally I set it up to blow toward the rear fan so all the nasty 'hotness' got blown straight out!!
Did think of pointing up toward the PSU so that could extract but why add unnessasary (that just dont look right!) heat to things?

Ahhh What direction do you actually point it in mate? Its hard to tell from the look of it? I would like it blowing out the back :) plus does anyone have know if you can use nail polish remover to remove thermal heatpads from stock coolers off the cpu?

cheers

Like that.

Fan blows from front to back.

Nail polish remover (i.e. acetone) should work, as would TIM cleaner.

Not too bad, but you will have to remove the motherboard.

Do NOT follow my wiring example :D

LOL wirings already done. Will post a pic tommorow when I get it fitted. Cheers for the help :)

Heres a closer photo of the heatsink. Note the heat pipes at the top if your unsure what way round it goes. Try and match up those.

Hmm dunno if Im going to fit this or the Zalman 9700 CNPS I have now. The Zalman just clips on to the retention bracket so I wouldnt need to remove the mobo. Might put the tower on my second PC instead as the mobo is already out of that. :p
