I have a tuniq tower coming on Monday, from the concensous of the web it seems sticking the backplate down is not such agood idea, should i just not stick it down and leave the protective cover over the sticky pad on?, will it still all be ok?

Yes do that, tighten the screws into it and that will hold it in place; I had to take mine off the other day and it wasn't a very nice experience :o

Yeh, dont stick the back plate down. Its a nightmare to remove. If you have problems fitting the cooler, you can masking tape or blue tack the back plate until the cooler is fittet, then just remove the masking tape.

what you didnt stick the backplate, or you used blu-tak etc?
yes exactly that, use masking tape or blue tak to hold the back plate in place - and once the TT is screwed into it that will hold it in place and remove the blu tak and masking tape

I would have done this if i had known that before

sellotaped the backplate on while i fitted and screwed in the heatsink worked an absoloute treat and no worrying about removing the thing, thanks everyone!
