Got a non LED fan Tuniq Tower and have been very pleased with it but wondering if I could change the fan for better/quieter cooling.

Trouble is, not sure of the specs of the fan so can't compare it. It has a variable control which I think is wired in-line (can't remember now) so assume that couldn't be used with a replacement which would then run at max.

Anyone with a TT using a non-stock fan and getting even better cooling/quieter operation...?

You can use any 120mm fan. Plug it into the CPU fan header and let the BIOS control its speed. I used a Scythe S-flex 1200RPM fan on mine but you could go up to a 1600RPM if you're overclocking.

I swapped mine with a Sharkoon Eagle 2000 120mm fan.

I then swapped that for a much quieter Noctua P-12 120mm.

Now I'm back to the Sharkoon as I need the extra airflow power it provides over the Noctua (also the noise doesn't matter so much now as I've got a 4870x2 setting the noise level :D).

I've always had my fans plugged into a Zalman fan controller then into the motherboard CPUfan header.

Have the Tuniq with the blue led fan.

Swapped firstly for a coolermaster silent fan (poor Cooling) , secondly A Hiper fan (o'k ish) and thirdly a Noctua NF-P12 .

The first 2 swaps I only had ltd hopes for but the last one I thought would be a big improvement - wrong didn't improve the cooling an iota; not at the ,silent running, speed I wanted it to run at.

So reverted to Tuniq's own which 'cools' just as well !!

It may be the case that your non-led fan runs differently from the led version but if it doesn't would recomend you stick with what you've got OR upgrade to a True.

swapped mine with a yate loon 1600rpm, temps dropped by a few C and i now cant hear it. worth while upgrade.
