About to install this and have a quick question, is the plastic back plate that comes with the NF4 ok to hold the Tuniq?

Well installed it and I couldn't use the springs on the screws that attach the H plate to the backplate, with them the screw wouldn't go near the thread in the backplate. So the H plate is bending either side where the screws go through to the backplate.

Is this ok? What are the springs for?

Decided not to run with out the springs. So bought a Thermalright K8 backplate, thing is it doesn't sit flat on the backside due to some resistors.

Any idea if this is ok or what backplate I can use?

Come on, someone has to have had this combination!

You'll need something to cushion it so the resistors don't get damaged and it's on flat. With the Big Typhoon it comes with a foam (or something like that) strip which fits on the backplate making it relatively safe to use and it also comes with foam strips that fit on the top and bottom leaving the middle with a gap making it flat but not interfering with the resistors.

It does have a thin plastic layer on the top of the back plate.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think once screwed all together the resistor will sit in the bottom indent (under the square hole), cusioned by the plastic layer. It's just at the moment its not tighted up and thus not sitting flat...

I doubt that plastic layer will cushion it much at all. When I've used the foam/rubber thing with the Big Typhoon theres a big indent in it where the resistors have pressed against it. If it wasn't for the foam/rubber thing it probably would have been crushed.

Yep that might do the trick. Careful about sticking anything to the motherboard though as when I did it before I had to use a hair dryer to get it back off! :)

I was thinking of just sticking it to the backplate and leaving the tape cover on the other side, if you know what I mean ;)

Sorry about the delay, screws were something I had hanging around. Just take the supplied ones along with you to a local hardware shop to get the right thread. The supplied screws were just too short and there was no way I was going to warp the mainboard to make them fit!!!
