Tuniq TX-1 Thermal Compound

whats this like to AS5, i have a full tube of this stuff as i have used all my AS5.

itll be used with a q6600 and a Tuniq Tower

AS5 is better than TX-1.

Hey guys,

New rig arrived today so I'm currently putting that together. Just got a question about thermal compound: I've got a tube of AS5 but it's a few years old. Would it be better to use that or some brand new TX1 that came with the heat sink?

Depends on the state of the AS5. It doesn't have a shelf-life, but its components will settle. I would try squeezing some out to see what it's like. You may find that you get a lot of liquid followed by a lot of gunge.

So probably best using the new TX-1.

Thanks cob, much appreciated. I just squirted a bit onto a piece of paper and the substance is consistant throughout. I rubbed it about and it feels how I remember it. I think I will use it.

I have used the tuniq paste when i got the tower and my q6600 and have had no problems
