I would be grateful if someone could tell me if the Tuniq needs the mobo out of the case for installation.

It does. It has a backplate that you need to install.

Erm...what socket type? The picture posted is LGA775.

If you have 939 / AM2, you should already have the bracket on the board more than likely...Which I think fits, can't remember removing mine anyway for a specific one. Unless i've had a major memory lapse.
