Hey there. Wondering if anyone could help me overclock my i5 3570k on a gigabyte D3H Z77 using the turbo boost mode like this guy does: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxCPyF-1tTc

When I do that it seems to use the standard 3.8GHZ turbo. I'm trying for a 4.2 using the turbo method but it doesn't seem to do anything. I realize he has the Z77X but does this make a difference?

Seems I can't go over 4GHZ by just changing the multi to 42 either. CPUZ and coretemp report it as 4.00GHZ. Strange.

I've got an identical setup macky, I'll try and remember to reply with my settings. I've only had it a few days so haven't gotten a decent overclock yet. Atm I'll be happy to just get 4.2 stable.

What I learnt first though is to let the BIOS handle the voltage, I tried just manually setting a lot of things including the voltage to 1.30 which just meant it got very hot and quite unstable. Prime95 stable but not game stable.

I reset it to defaults and just gamed on that but last night I used pretty much default settings and just changed the CPU multiplier to 42 and turned on XPM for the RAM. Now it's Intel Burn Test (should be a better test than prime95) stable, yet to test it in game though.
