Hey guys,

Just noticed a slow down on my computer where it froze for half a second then worked, froze for half a second then worked and it happened over and over.

I checked the temp on my X1900XT with an Accelero S1 and at it was around 75 degrees. I believe this caused the slow down as when it dropped back down to around 60 everything was fine again.

I never had this problem before but I've just recently switched to a 22" widescreen so the extra resolution is obviously straining the graphics card more and causing higher temps.

So my question is should I get the Turbo Module and attach that or just whack a spare 120mm fan in the gap?

Thanks
Jonny

Just mount a 12cm fan underneath. Same card as you with S1- 32 idle, never goes above 50 under load, 688 overclocked core.

I've just stuck an amber series fan at 5v on to the heatsink pulling air away from the GPU and blowing down onto the X-Fi card, idle temp dropped by around 12, now at 35!

Let see how it does under load :p

i have mounted an amber fan also, but have it blowing through the heatsink onto the card, to try to keep the power modules cool.....

fingers crossed, it seems to be working!
