Hello everyone,
I have tried finding a solution to my problem, not just in this forum but in others too and with ASUS tech support directly whom fobbed me off saying they don't provide overclocking support, but my problem is to with the features not working rather than overclocking.
I have the P8P67 LE board and have followed numerous guides on how to get a simply overclock. The problem i'm having is that my Turbo mode simply doesn't ever kick in when in Windows 7 or even indicated at post.
I have made sure to stress my pc with Prime95 and orthos whilst monitoring the CPU speed in CPU-Z in order to force Speedstep to ramp up the core speeds but it never works. I have played around with the C states too in the BIOS and even disabled EIST to bypass any regulation but that removes the Turbo function entirely, so i presume u need to have speedstep on in order for the Turbo mode to work.
I have flashed my bios to the latest revision too and reports as BIOS v.1.0.0.1029 rev.0709
I 'm trying to find out if my bopard is faulty but to be honest, when changing the TURBO ratio to say 40 the BIOS does show at the very top that the target CPU SPeed is 4.5GHz, just that when i actually boot into windows and stress the computer it simply stays at the stock speed of 3.3GHz.
I have posted on a few other forums too, this one in particular:
http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/intel-overclocking/40729-windows-not-reporting-oc.html
I suppose the most important BIOS settings are:
Ai OC Tuner: MANUAL
BCLK: 100.0
AUTO save OC BCLK Freq in ME: AUTO
Turbo Ratio: BY ALL CORES (CAN ADJUST IN OS)
By all cores: 45
MEM FREQ: DDR3-1866
EPU SETTING: AUTO (I CANNOT DISABLE THIS JUST SET LOW, MED OR HIGH)
LOAD LINE CALIB: ENABLED
CPU SPECTRUM: DISABLED
CPU RATIO: 33 (this is max setting, i have also tried on AUTO)
LIMIT CPUID MAX: DISABLED
ENHANCED DISABLE BIT: ENABLED
INTEL VERTULIZATION: ENABLED
INTEL SPEEDSTEP: ENABLED
TURBO MODE: ENABLED
CPU C1E: DISABLED (also tried with all c states set to ENABLED)
I today thought that perhaps my TURBO MODE PARAMETERS might be to blame but i don't have a clue what to set them to, nor can i find any detailed info relating to them on the web, so if you can perhaps explain what the variables do that would be great.
Currently they are all set to AUTO.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated... i dont know where else to go. Thanks in advanced.
