Hello all,

Not been long into road cycling, so please bear with any stupid comments! Started back in May on a mates bike, and have now had my own for a couple of months (Ribble Endurance SL Disc). I'm currently doing a fairly intense rowing training programme, which, due to the new lockdown involves a few long bike sessions, and as the days get shorter/colder/wetter, cycling on the road is becoming less appealing.

So looking at potentially getting a turbo to start zwifting etc. (I had looked at rollers as a cheaper alternative, but not sure they would suit long (2/3/4 hour) steady state sessions.

I've been looking around at what's in stock, and it seems some of the Elite units around the £600 mark seem to be about. I'm struggling to find the best out of the Drivo/Direto-X/Suito or other options, so if anyone has any recommendations that would be appreciated?

Also being a complete novice when it comes to any kind of indoor training - do I need to check anything that my bike will fit/the frame won't get damaged etc.?

Cheers!

Cheers for the reply - went with a direto x in the end as Halfords had one in stock!

My bike has a 11-32 cassette on it, but the spare cassette I have lying around that I've put on the turbo is a 11-28, is it normal to need to re index the gears when swapping onto a turbo? Getting an awful lot of noise, and struggling to get smooth shifts on the turbo.
