Probably build quality and reliability, Cycleops have been making good turbo trainers for years now. Can't find the amount of resistance it'll give you but in the main sites Q&A it does say it's not really designed for high effort training, more for steady state stuff.

TrainerRoad is meant to support it though so you should be able to get VirtualPower using it with a cadence and speed sensor I think. Should be a more consistent number than heartrate between sessions.

To do this you'll need some extra sensors though and an IOS device to run TrainerRoad.

So you can see how fast you'd need to be pedalling to get a certain power, compare the CycleOps Mag to say the CycleOps Fluid 2. If you are a good cyclist or have good power it might not be enough for you.
