Is there any way to turn off the bass of my 5.1 logitech cheapo speakers? Booms too much and annoys the housemates :(

Does it not have a bass dial?

If not, your sub will have a bass reflex port (a hole). Stuff a sock in there and it should reduce the boom. Not al the way in mind you, just so it blocks the port.

it would be as easy as that if it was just for listening to music but i think its going to be more difficult to have a program that would work for games too. there might be something out there thou...

I'm using an Audigy2 ZS with my extra boomy Logitechs. Turning the subwoofer dial all the way down doesn't do much as its still boomy as ever. Adjusting the bass in the Creative mixer does the trick though.

If you knock the low end down on either the graphic equaliser on your soundcard software, or the one in your media player then none will even reach the speakers.

My z-5500 on no sub volume are tinny as hell though, 2 bars up its just tolerable for my folks downstairs, anything over half my room shakes..

Just thought if it was all the way down should have no bass.. nm.
