Turn on with mouse/keyboard?

My base unit is over 6ft of the ground, so it's a PiTA press the power button.

There is the option in my bios to turn the machine on with a mouse and keyboard but for some reason it doesn't work.

My motherboard is a gigabyte p965 ds3 and I'm just using a normal usb mouse and keyboard.

How can I get this to work?

Does your keyboard have a power/sleep button?

It could be the usb part, you may need to set an option in the bios for external usb boot, whatever its called.

i have only ever managed to get this to work with serial mouse/keyboard not USB

if your runnina vista, its does alow poer setting,w hich for all intents and purposes is off, then all you ahev to do it move the mouse or press a key and hey presto tis turns on.
