double click the file when you are done...that bit had me fooled for 10 mins. Drag and drop into itunes won't work.

I use iRinger - has a few more "features" (fades etc), however you can import an mp3, clip it and export it straight itunes from the app.

You learn something new everyday, however after reading the site it looks like you don't get to select the part of the song you want.

For example I have the Frontier:First Encounters opening music as my ringtone (how geeky am I?) but the first 30 seconds is just a repeating beat.

I used the Audacity method.

I have no idea why anyone would use anything but the software that came on their Mac to do this :/

If you use a spazzy PC then obviously you need something

like a mac

The Beta version of Audacity can save direct to AAC (as long as you have FFMpeg installed) which you can simply rename to m4r.

I might be willing to pay for overpriced tat as regards an iPhone, but a Mac would take the bisuit
