hi,

My girlfriends laptop has just had the ac pin in the back of the computer soldered back on (it was the only thing to do bar scrapping the laptop) Unfortunately in doing so the keyboard no longer works, she is using a toshiba USB keyboard, but the shortcut to turn the wireless on, on the laptop keyboard is fn + f1 this won't work on the USB keyboard. Is there any other way to get the wireless turned on?
It's an evesham laptop.

Cheers

Edit- not sure if this is the right place for this, mods please move if not

Some laptops have the ability to turn the wireless on through the BIOS settings. That would be the first place to look.
After that, look for software from the manufacturer that will allow you turn it on. (I think Quickset had the ability, I can't be too sure though).
Failing all that, try the device manager, it might just be in there, and in need of enabling.

No dedicated switch on the laptop I take it?

Why does the keyboard no longer work?

Does the wireless show in either device manager or in network connections?
