Recently I got a Samsung 2443BW and I really like the size and resolution but in some games 1920*1200 is just too much and I have to play at 1600*1200 or even lower.

Off course this means that the TFT is scaling and even though it still looks quite good it isn't as sharp as the native res and it can also be stretched.

But isn't it possible, via drivers or the monitor) to disable scaling and having black borders around the image?

Have a look in the Nvidia control panel (Assuming your spec is upto date, and that your drivers are recent).

There is a section for flat panel scaling. Choose the option most applicable to your needs. Sometimes needs a restart to become "properly" active.

Yes, I still have a 8800GTS so I will check tonight :)

If you look in the OSD are there any scaling options? On the HP 2475 you can select no scaling, scale to aspect ratio or stretch to full screen - there may be something similar on the sammy. NVidia control panel definitely allows you to not scale.

I thought there would be but I haven't found them yet on the monitor.

Some monitors do, some don`t.

1 to 1 pixel mapping is the proper name I think.

Not sure that the Sammy has it. If not, the NCP will do the job just as well.
