i have this case;

since it runs almost 24/7 and i sleep in the same room i would like to be able to turn off the blue led lights coming from inside the case

since im a noob (always had a laptop in the past) i would like to know how i can do this?

do i need to open er' up?

I think the only way to get rid of them would be to literally remove the leds from the fans or just replace all the fans. Tbh if you leave it on in the same room as you sleep and you want to get rid of the leds then getting new fans is probably a good idea because you will be able to get much quiter fans too.

blue lights? where do they come from

the Power light/hdd? or motherboard light?

tell us where its coming from and we can help you from there. :)

a lot of Power supplies use blue lights on the back of the them could it be that?

They do come with LED fans. Unfortunatly there is no easy way to have them switch on and off.

I would:
Replace LED fans with better quieter non-glowy ones.
Buy cold cathode lights that come with a switch to get the blue lighting effect.

You can then
a/ Sleep
b/ Have blue glowyness

It's not a huge job to put an in line switch to the feed for the LEDS on th e fans, But as has been said easier to just swap for non LED fans

Sorry for going off topic OP but NAM Killer, what are your settings for 4.4 please. I'm stable at 4.2 on air but anything else and its BSOD time

WAIT WIAT!!! DONT GO CUTTING ANYTHING!!!!

I have the same exact case as you an antec 1200. There is one veyr easy way to get orid of the leds. I wanted to get rid of the front fans led's to change it for a green color scheme. ALL you need to do is open the draws at the front and remove them fully. Buy some black electrical tape and wrap a small peice around (so it wraps around at least once) the Blue Led stick/Light. and thats it! Leds dont get very hot so no chance of burning the tape. it DOES work as ive done this on All of the antec fans (exspect the large one at the top as there is a switch) :) hope this helps!

P.s PM me if you want me to send you some pics showing you how to do it. It only takes a few mins and is pretty easy when you pull out the draws at the front.

Really it depends on if your chip can do it, what voltage do you run at 4.2? Also what board/RAM do you have?

That is a good idea, I didn't think of that when i went on a 'no LED' rampage in my 1200 :P

by the souds of it he still would like to use the LED's but just turn em off when he goes to bed. Id suggest you get a switch rated at 12v and over 3amps and put this in the fan cable. If im not mistaken the led works off the fans power and then goes to a ground point so there is no need to even turn off the fan whilst your asleep ^^
