Turning on issue

Hi all

A slightly weird issue I believe.
We have a fan plugged into the same extension lead as my partners PC, and occasionally when we turn on the fan, it will also turn on the PC.

Does anyone have any ideas why it does this?

Cheers for your replies guys.
It's when the computer is shut down, I will have a look at the settings though.
Also it is just a cheap extension lead currently, I have been meaning to get her a proper surge protector one but haven't got round to it yet.
