Will turing the pc off at the mains evryday do any harm over a longer peroid?

Yes it does, My little brother killed my last hard drive by doing that.

Are you shutting the PC down through windows then switching it off at the mains or just switching it off at the mains?

If you are just turning it off at the mains without shutting down your pc through windows it will cause some harm to your PC. Main problem will be your hard drives.

oh sorry shold have said pc will be shut down through windows in the correct manner, just dont like leaving sockets on over night
