Just fitted onw onto my flat mates E4800 wolfdale @ 3.2ghz
Vid is 1.21v

Temp @ idle 38c
Temp @ load 50c

is that a touch high?? or is it ok?

Thsi is the first time i've used arctic silver 5, could this heat be the breaking in period?

Id say that was pretty much fine.

although im not as clued up as most people here

well mine is shown at 41C and CPU fan speed 1929RPM whilst iam idle although I turn the fan up a bit whilst playing COD4 or TASPRINGS.

as long as u have mounted the pad that goes underneath the pcb , using the supplied screws as alignment then u cannot go wrong.

yeah i got the backing plate on and screwed the spring screws until i could no longer see the threads on each screw. I probably cocked the paste up then. When i'm next off i'll use the cleaner stuff i bought and give it another bash!

just 50c load...

It asks you for pushing it more, go go go 3.5ghz !!

Everything up to 65c 100% load is fine, squeeze some power of it :).

Seems to be working OK now ^_^

got 1.21v , 400fsb x 9
Memory @ 800mhz

currently 1hour into a prime test @ 55c full load temps. According to core temps that is.

had a failure last night on prime, took it back to 3.4. Was 57c after 9ish hours of Prime.

Will try orthos and 3.6 today. i'll up the voltage to 1.23, any idea what i need the NB voltage to be, or just leave it on auto

That idle temp is too high, should be around 28-30ºC (depending on ambient temp). The fan makes little/no difference so just have it set to low.

Perhaps u used too much AS5?

Using CoreTemp?

thast what i was thinking, i followed the instructions off the webby, but it was a pain getting the TT on, so i think i may have smeared the AS5 too much. If the 3.6-8 clocks go too high on orthos i'll take the TT120 off and reattach it.

>idle temp is too high, my temp was around 28-35 when first installed now at 38 - 41 c IDLE maybe the summer refleks this as my room temp gauge states 32 C, I do have the most south facing bedroom in the house, well its my house :-)

i'm using core temp to monitor it. The house is old and get s VERY hot in the summer, that could possibly be effecting it. It wont hurt cleaning the chip and having another bash at fitting it.

What's up with you all getting this 3.6-3.8clocks on 1.2v and be scary to put some more.
" CAN I PUT 0,0001v more? CAN I MAKE IT 1,150001? WONT IT BREAK ?"

These new CPUs handle volts very well so as long as temp is under 65c load give it as much as you like ;).

Your temps are fine. Idle is largely dependent on the ambient temps. Sometimes i idle in the late 40's.
