TV 4k or 1080p 60fps is fine, 1440p locks at 30fps?

Im not sure where best to ask this, here, graphics cards, or pc gaming section.

Basically i want to play my pc games via my 4k tv (55ks7000). Obviously my pc hasnt got the grunt to max games at 4k but it does a decent job. However my sweet spot is 1440p when playing via my monitor so basically i want to try this resolution on the tv as its better than 1080 and offers max settings at 60fps for the games in a hope it upscales nicely

However if i set a game to 1440p when playing via the tv it locks to a 30hz refresh rate

I heard a custom resolution could help but im not to sure what im doing? Or maybe even set one for 1800p?

Any advice appreciated

Imo on a 4ktv. Either run @ native 4k or 1080p. Running @1440p appears smeared and 1080p looks and obviously runs better. Custom resolution is easy for your 1440p, just set one up in nvidia control panel and make sure its 60htz.

Really? Is that down to the tv not dealing well with 1440p? I just expected it to be sharp! I have heard this before mind, though some say 1800p works a treat!

Ill try custom res again, i did try earlier but couldnt seem to find it in the game once set!
