Im wanting to buy some new TVs, I don't have any at the moment, the last time I got a tv 1080p was the big thing.
I know what what most of the features are but how much of a difference do they make ?

Im wanting 4k because its not much more but HDR is confusing from what ive read, HDR Is the same for all HDR featured TVs but when reading some tv review some TVs have hardware hdr and some software which is confusing because all come under HDR and in the search menus and its not clear in the description.

Im not sure if oled is worth the extra money but quantum dot is it worth the extra ?

What im thinking is because im going to be buying 4 TVs anyway I should have some buying power and I may as well get the new feature for a little extra if possible 4k hdr.

Can someone with knowledge give me some advice ?

I'm in the same boat and narrowed it down to either the Samsung KS7000 or 8000 now (trying to justify if the 8000 warrants the extra cost) or wait for LG's 2017 OLED's.

I'm thinking of using mine for PC gaming as well so input lag is fairly important.

OLED seems better for blacks, contrast and motion while the Samsung LCD's seem to have a brighter image. Image quality wise I think the OLED is probably going to win but was a bit concerned about the input lag and image retention.

No expert on HDR but at the moment the OLED's seem to struggle for brightness in HDR whereas the Samsung's seem to perform better here.

It all seems to be about trade off's tbh but I'm sure someone else more educated on the subject could debunk some of the myths.

Thanks for the reply, Your right about the trade off's (price vs feature) 8bit vs 10bit, OLED vs Quantum Dot vs LED, Flat vs curved

I think the 4K is worth it to me, its not much more then 1080p and most come with HDR even if its 8bit,

I believe in the US the KS7000 is actually the KS8000, so if you are looking at reviews online bear that in mind. I also believe the only real difference between the UK KS7000 and KS8000 is the design and slightly better local dimming. I decided to save myself £500 and buy the KS7000 for a discount when using code TVS100 at the co-op elec.

Aye JL have the KS7000 with the Samsung 4k player for about 1175 or so and that is feeling mighty tempting a the moment. Just need the PS4 Pro then and all set.

If you like games, then why not get the Xbox One S 4k HDR system and use that as a Blu-Ray player?

I've read some reviews and the Samsung stand alone player seems to give better playback quality than the Xbox player. I'd be getting a PS4 Pro anyway for certain games so...
