I currently have an old 65" LG LCD panel which we use as our main TV.

It was pretty cheap at the time and has lasted a good few years without issue.

It struggles however with dark scenes and motion on it is pretty bad, you get ghosting on some things and I have just put up with it until we were in a position where we were looking to replace.

We want to replace it soon and I think I've narrowed the choices down to the following:

Sony A80J (65")
Samsung QN90A (75")

The sizes are different due to price differences, I don't think I can justify the 77" Sony as it is over 1k more.

Reviews are pretty good on both, I just wondered if anyone had any real world experience / input on what they would recommend.

Thanks

Mainly streaming content from netflix etc. No game use until it is repurposed into the office.

Room is brightish during the day, but in the evening we close blinds etc.

Yeah the size diff for the prices is difficult, I guess it becomes simpler if I look at the C1 which is a lot less than the 75" samsung.

Just don't want to end up with issues with dark scenes etc again, so I guess I should just take the plunge and go Oled... I had pretty much made up my mind until a friend showed me I could get the next size up in samsung for not a lot more.

Update:

I bought the Samsung QN94 75" as a decent deal came up (same panel as 95 but no connect box) - Will only use this for gaming years down the line when it's replaced.. so the 1x HDMI 2.1 wasn't really an issue. I also had nowhere to put the connect box for the 95a.

Worked out £140 more than buying the 65" Sony A80J with the burn in protection from JL.

Thanks for all the comments and insight.
