Hi :)

I dont really know nothing about this so i wanted to ask here, hope its right section.

Heres what i'm after.

A card for my pc so i can watch normal TV channels and also must have freeview option so i can get channels like E4 :) (I wan to be chatting on msn and be watching E4 in another window next to it at same time !. And have it full screen if i want. )

I understand i whack in my pc and connect an areal to it? My brother just bought an areal for his freeview box and he gets all channels with crisp picture, so that same areal would be fine for a tv card in my pc?

Looking to spend 40-50£

Thanks for any help :)

do you get good signal where you live? PC tuners tends to need strong signals to watch TV without major fuzzes... i found out the expensive way and now i have a useless card in my box.

Not sure, when we got sky we was told we have a strong signal. If i do signal test thing on sky its very strong.

My brother put a £5 areal to his freeview box and hes got all channels and its same quality as our sky downstairs.

i'd say thats a good signal.... i live in the middle of newcastle upon tyne... i have sky in the lounge and freeview in the bedroom, attached to an arial on the roof... if i get a slight breeze the freeview goes **** up, so i would say you have a good strength signal..

I have this below.

Leadtek Winfast DTV1000-T Digital TV Tuner Card

Very good card for the cash but in my area, the BBC channels locked up for a second or two every now and again so i bought a SIgnal; booster from Argos for £8 and everything is superb.

Thanks, does this card support freeview channels like E4 and what not?

All the Free view channals (about 60 TV and Radio) for my area using a standard roof arial and an £8 signal booster. E4 yes.

Hmm, you think my bros arial would be sufficiant? It picks up all channels with a sky quality picture on his stand alone free view box.
