TV box suggestions

Hi, I'm in the market for a streaming TV box. There seem to be plenty of cheap options around but hard to know which are reliable.

I understand it's popular to have kodi installed but when I tried to run kodi on my win 7 PC, I couldn't figure it out.

kodi primarily is a media playback / organiser (ie films music etc) from your movie / music collection
its the add-ons that deal with tv streaming, as these are used to access pirate material they cant be discussed
