Just been looking to get my TV Calibrated. I bought a Samsung UE55HU8500 on the weekend and have read a lot about professional calibration services to get the best possible picture out of the screen.

Have been in touch with the guys at HDTV Test who also have a calibration services and am tempted to get them down.

Any one else had their screen calibrated?

Hi.

I've not had mine calibrated professionally, but I have spent a lot of time using forums to 'self 'calibrate' so-to-speak.
I've also used a Disney calibration disc to tweak a few more settings.

The result (for me) was a big improvement from the 'out of the box' settings. I have a mode for general viewing and movie viewing.

If I had the money I would not hesitate to get it done properly.

My TV is a Samsung UE55ES8000.

Rubbish, without a meter and training you have no idea if you're improving the picture or not based on the standards

Let alone a good meter.

They are good. David Mackenzie works with them if I remember correctly.

Has anyone had it done, or seen a screen after it's been calibrated? Got lots of positive reviews from what I have seen but not sure how much of it is people wanting to think it has made a huge difference after investing in having it done.

Obviously there are guides etc. online and one can do their best with out all the right tools but it's never going to be perfect with out all the right equipment.
