A friend of mine is thinking of getting a TV card so he wanted me to find out a few things for him. I really don't know anything about them so I thought I'd ask here.
Basically, he has NTL Digital and wants to be able to able to schedule recordings of programs like the news and then transfer them to his Archos player. If he got some Hauppauge card, how should he connect from the NTL box to the card? Do you use the RF out or should you use a scart->composite lead to go into the back of the Tuner?
I was wondering about how the EPGs worked as well. Will you only get one if you connect via RF or will you get one if you go in by s-video or composite? He needs to be able program recordings so I presume an EPG would be the best way to do this. Also, will the TV card be able to decode the NTL analogue cable signal or will it only work with terrestrial analogue, ie, an RF lead coming straight from the wall without going into the NTL box?
