I am going to buy a TV card for my PC and i was wondering if sky would plug into this and work properly.

TV Card : Compro VideoMate DVB-T300 Digital & Analog TV Internal PCI - Retail (GX-001-CP)

It will feed in via s-video and you will need an ir blaster to change the channel on the skybox or use the skyremote to change the channels.

If you look on the avsforums there are some entries in there regarding hooking up sky digitally via special cards and modded skyboxes.

Hi,

To get sky on your pc so you can record all you will need is x1 sky digi box, x1 usb or pci tv card I use a Kworld usb DVB one, x1 ext length coax cable and if the pc is in a differenet room than the sky box x1 sky link.

Install your tv card etc and run the coax cable from the sky box to your pc and connect it to the ant connection on the tv card, connect the other end to the rf2 out on the sky box, (if the pc is in different room connect the sky link to the coax and then to the tv card tune in the tv card and you should find your sky channel and enjoy

Hope this helped, as it is how I do it on my system

dont do it!

Hi,
I have been into capturing video on PC's for about 7 years. I have had several capture cards from different companies , I own a compro T300 at the moment and its a complete pile of *****. The driver support from compro is a joke ( a bad joke ) , I use a huappage Nova-T in my system ( freeview digital only) and in my other system I have a PVR-350 from huappage ( analogue tv with standard video input ) , this card has a hardware mpeg encoding chip that does all the work within the card itself ( can be used on really low spec machine )

I just wish someone had warned me about the compro card before I bought it.

Hope this helps
