TV Card software

Hi,

I recently bought a tv card, and it has come with the most absurd software I've ever seen - particularly the electronic program guide and recording part of it appears as some rubbish list that looks like it has been typed in notepad, and is impossible to decipher at times.

Does anyone know any good free tv card software with good program listings thingies?

Freeware:

GB PVR = pvr software to play vids /mp3/watch tv/ record tv etc http://www.gbpvr.com/

XML TV radio times , for epg listing for 2 weeks in uk http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/

Put the 2 together and you have an awesome system.

what os are you using?

Media Centre on Vista works pretty darn well

I use DVBViewer which is about £12 with a hauppauge nova-td usb TV dongle which gives you full weeks epg and easy to use

Thanks for the replies so far

I have set up PVRx2, and have it running - however it has scanned and found the channels OK, but when not in channel scan mode, my tv card dongle goes to "sleep" and refuses to wake up when i click 'watch live tv' which is obviously useless!

it is a Pinnacle PCTV 71e USB stick - anyone have any ideas??
