my sister got one the other day and it seems pretty good, freeview and all. are there any that come with both the freeview capability and a socket to allow an aerial lead to be plugged in? ie so i can hook up a vcr to it? any reccomendations?

Sounds to me like you'd need an analogue and digital one then if you want to hook up one of those ancient tape machine thingies. :p

PK!

Or you could run freeview through the VCR into the TV card? That way you would need only 1 aerial in.

could do i guess, but i doubt i'd be able to get as good a signal through an analogue card with a digibox as opposed to a digi tv card

Haha, knew someone would say something like that! i watch tv on the pc a fair bit, and it would be nice to be able to watch vids, i can't replace my entire collection, would be too expensive!

If you're not actually going to be watching analogue tv but just using it for videos, then you wont need to connect an aerial anyway. Plus if you have the extra freeview box you'll end up with an extra plug to find a socket for and another remote to loose!!

I got hold of a Lifeview FlyTV Platinum card pretty cheap (less than £10). Even has 3.5mm audio jacks on it. Fairly good software package too.

Are you aware that you can't watch cable TV through a digital only TV card - it needs an analogue feed. The digi ones are for freeview. Get one with both imo for future options.
