is it possible to get freeview/sky on pc with a tv card.

iv never had a tv card, im going to get one so i can use it with me new lcd. just wondering what these actually do?

As far as im aware, its only freeview you can get on then atm...

I think there is some dodgy way of getting sky onto it though, only briefly read over it when I heard it though

so all i need is a tv card that can recieve freeview, and an ariel that can recieve freeview. and thats it?

If you get a Digital TV Card you can only get freeview.
You can get sky and freeview by getting a Analogue + Digital TV card and plugging the output from a sky digibox into the TV card.

Not all parts of the UK can get freeview. Check on http://www.freeview.co.uk to see if you can get it.

Yes that is all you need. If you have a house aerial its generally better to hook the card up to that, as the mini aerials supplied with some TV cards (usually of the USB variety) are not known for producing brilliant, stable picture quality.

As far as I'm aware it's possible to hook an analog TV card up to the RF output on a Sky STB and use an IR blaster to control the box from whatever software you are using (Windows MCE, BeyondTV, MythTV or just some generic TV card software)

Sky could give you all the channels you would recieve from freeview...but you may have to attain certain packages from them to do this...also, will cost you a huge chunk more in the long run...upside...you got about 600 channels to chose from instead of 60
