TV For next gen consoles?

Been using the Sony KDL 42W653 for a while now. It's actually a really nice screen. Despite having dubious "smooth motion" features it runs xbox one / HD channels / PC a dream.

I play currently on an old Toshiba 32LV933, I dont experience any input lag, I am just bothered by the big frame and a bit annoyed but the greyish blacks.

I have around 600€ to spent and was first thinking of getting a used Panasonic 42" Plasma as my main telly is a 50" Viera VT30. Sadly I had to notice that my corner in the living room where I have the gaming station is not big enough to host a TV with 108cm width (sorry lads I am not from the UK).

In order to fit the regular 26" Samsung PC monitor beside, I can only install a 40" or 42" TV.

My choices are now either used models off ebay like Toshiba 39L4333DG which would be from the same series than my current model (2012) or Toshiba 40L7363DG from 2013.

In local stores I could get some Panasonic TX-39ASW504 or TX-39ASW304 (333€) or Sony Models like KDL40R485BBAEP, KDL40W605BBAEP, KDL-42W705B (589€)

The price difference would around 200 Euro, my orignal budget where 450€ but I would not mind spending 600€.

I solely use the TV for PC (Internet, DTP, bit of Gaming) and Xbox One (I know you are Playstation folk).

So my question would now be, which TV would you recommend my to get. My biggest scares are input lag and clouding along with having to deal with the black/grey issue again.

I play mainly at night and use Gunnar glasses.

Thanks for the support!

Ok guys I got a Sony KDL42W705B now, but I really struggle finding the right settings for operation as a PC Screen. Currently I run 1920x1080 in 60Hz, with Picture Format Wide in Full Pixels, but it looks kinda odd, what do I do wrong?

Thanks

better off doing that in the Home Cinema part of the forum, I'm sure a lot of people in there are interested in looking at the new Sony sets.

Also the extra 2 inches will be a lot better, I currently use a 50" panel and trust me bigger is better :p

Do you game at night or like to game in a dark room or watch movies with the lights off, etc? Then look into buying something like this "Antec SoundScience USB Powered HDTV Bias Lighting with 6500K Colour Temperature" ocuk sell them but I'm personally going with a competitor and a discount site.

Basically it helps prevent eye strain, connects to USB port on TV and is a nice cheap setup.

I had previously spent £25 on a really good setup but the cheap chinese PSU exploded and luckily I was in at the time and it didn't catch fire or anything.

So now I'm going with something safe and made to safety standards.

here is an old post of mine with a picture of BIAS lighting in work

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=24033359&postcount=59

it helps improve black levels too (picture quality).

i know it's another £15 on top to spend but your eyes will thank you for it if you ever use the TV at night or in darkness.

Is there a version that changes color automatically or does this not not exist at all?

Is there a version that changes color automatically or does this not not exist at all?

there is and it costs like £120 and doesn't work too well.

also the coloured ones are gimmicks, you should be using daylight (white) and nothing else. using coloured lights detracts from the screen making the picture look funny.

basically it can overpower or underpower certain colours if you use coloured lighting. the reason why photographers use white backlighting, etc.
