TV - Freeview Cards

I have a Hauppauge Nova-T-500 running with Vista HP x64 and it's sweet  . I live in a fairly low signal area but I never have reception problems. The only strange thing that happens is as soon as someone turns on the shower my TV card goes bizurk and as soon as you turn it off the reception is back  .

I've just bought a Hauppauge Nova-TD, and as soon as I put some aerial cabling in I'll be able to use it!

Yes, living in a low signal area means that even the 2 little antennas it comes with can't pick up diddly squat.

Although this is a great excuse to get the power tools out... :D

PK!

If you go Hauppauge, make sure you check their website for driver support.

Mine (Nova-t PCI) still isn't supported in Vista 64, which I'm pretty annoyed about.

Turns out that after saying for months that drivers are 'coming soon', they are now not going to release any.

I definitely wouldn't recommend a Hauppauge product to anybody now.

I have a Hauppauge Nova T in my HTPC and no complaints at all. Used to live in an area according to the freeview website - couldn't receive any, but I did.

The cards are fine, the driver support isn't.

If they had just come out and said they weren't going to be making any I wouldn't be so bothered, but for months they said they were coming.

Put me right off.

Can't recommend the Terratec one enough, very fast at channel switching and yes it does have Vista x64 drivers as that is what I'm using!

Terratec Cinergy 2400i

You'll need a PCI-e 1x slot for it though!

Just noticed O/C have some new cards from Compro, the specs look good! ...I've never used these but anything is better than Hauppauge as all my experience over the years with a range of their cards has been painful.
