No they should become a subscription or ad funded service like every other broadcaster.

We shouldn't have to pay for a service we don't use, especially when it's broadcasting rubbish.
It's a public service broadcaster which doesn't work as a commercial entity. For example you would kill local radio overnight.

Only BBC radio, which is also junk now. All the others are commercial.

The BBC can become a commercial entity quite easily.

They stop if you tell them you don't watch live TV or iplayer via their site, but your supposed to tell them every year like they are some kind of authority lol

It's probably better to just not communicate with them at all. The more letters and "investigators" they send out, the more time and money they waste on chasing people and getting no where. Eventually it will get so inefficient it collapses, especially if the rumors are true about the amount of people canceling per day.

14 months and still getting the letters saying 'investigation under way in your area' :D
I've probably had about 100 letters in the past few years.

some claim they take you to court soon, someone will be in your area on ** date.
then they go back to the start again.

It's just an endless loop that keeps resetting itself which is kinda funny.

I don't communicate with them or tell them who lives here.
none of their business, I don't own a TV or watch it live on the internets.
Do I need a TV Licence to watch subscription services like Netflix, Amazon or Now TV?
You don’t need a TV Licence if you only ever use these services to watch on demand or catch up programmes except if you’re watching BBC programmes on iPlayer.

From the 1st of April 2018 the TV Licence is going up to £150.50 and every year on it will rise with inflation.
I do not have a TV or radio and I will not be buying a TV or radio.

The price rises started last year, doesn't bother me either as I don't watch live TV. Hardily TV for that matter.

First thing you should ask these 'people' when they come a calling is if they've informed their motor insurance company that they're using their car for business purposes rather than just for social and commuting.

I find a lot of BBC programs lately just crap tbh. Most of the good stuff isn't on live TV any more. The BBC don't want to pay for them any more or it doesn't fit their new, almost cringe worthy ultra-PC requirements.
I wonder whether the combination of a Tory Government hell-bent on privatising everything and selfish swine who are too tight-fisted to pay for anything might have something to do with the BBC allegedly not wanting to pay for "good stuff"?

Nope I just told them I don't use the TV any more. I think removing their access rights is probably just painting a target on yourself.

I'm not too worried, especially with Capita on the verge of collapse :p
Removing their access rights worked for me. Since I complained and removed access rights all the harassment has stopped.

Well I've not really had any harassment apart from a couple of letters.

I don't live in a poor area, I'm not a single mother, or over 60 and their nearest office is 30 miles away. So they probably aren't bothering so much with me.

Wholly agree with that. Most of it is utter dross. The One Show is literally Blue-Peter for adults, and everything on the BBC is now pro-women, pro-ethnic diversity, being PC at all cost, it even infiltrates into what news they report which is supposed to be impartial clearly not any more.

I need to pay my TV licence soon, but for the first time (mainly angered at yet another cancellation of Robot Wars) I am tempted not to and just unplug my aerial from my TV. Only thing I really use it for is the news anyway.
